Finally Here!

Today we leave for Florida, and then Sunday for our Western Caribbean cruise with the kids and grandparents - everyone is excited and has been waiting for this day for months! We're packed, dog is dropped off at camp and now I am just watching the clock for 12:30 to arrive!

Yesterday was early release day for Matthew so I ran home at lunch to pick him up and bring him back to track out camp for the afternoon. On the ride back over, he began to tell me the details around the "Greensborough Sit In" - not sure if that is the official name - but the civil rights movement day in February where the 4 students sat down to eat their lunch. He had an amazing level of knowledge and understanding of this event, it was really awesome to listen to him. When he was finished telling me what he had learned, I asked him what it meant to him, or how it made him feel to know what the students did? He told me point blank that it made him feel that all that matters with people is what is on the inside. It doesn't matter what colour, shape or size people are - it just matters what is in their heart.

What a proud-mamma-moment!
