Today started out with a little work – literally! Attended a couple of sessions at the Data Governance Conference in Orlando and heard some excellent speakers. The sessions wrapped up around 11 AM, we packed up and headed for Disney World!
Arrived at Fort Wilderness Campground and received our tickets and information. The cabin wasn’t yet ready, but we were fine to get into the Magic Kingdom in the meantime! We headed down to the Settlement Marina and caught the boat over to MK… Matthew and Ainsley were in awe each step of the way!
Upon arriving at the Magic Kingdom, we swiped our cards, got our fingerprints set and in we went!! Main Street USA is decorated to beat the band – simply gorgeous! Christmas trees, garland, decorations and lights – it’s something to see for sure!!!
We headed straight up the Main Street to the castle and walked through, able to get a few peeks into the Cinderella Lunch that was going on and it looked really fun. Ainsley caught a glimpse of the carousel behind the castle and immediately wanted to go ride one of the horses!! However, hunger prevailed and we decided to grab some food first – before hitting some rides.
The very first ride we went on was The Haunted Mansion. Ains was a little timid when the room started to stretch – but once we got going in the buggy she really enjoyed. Matt of course, was all OVER the haunting and wanted to go again and again! We left the mansion and headed for It’s a Small World – fast passing Peter Pan at the same time. Peter Pan was a great ride! We also enjoyed the Dumbo ride, finally got on the carousel and then headed back to camp for dinner. Everyone was feeling pretty tired – but the lure of Wishes Nighttime Spectacular was enough to motivate us to find a little more energy in reserve and head back over… the show was super fabulous! The BEST part, however – was that everyone left after the firework show – basically leaving the park empty for the last 45 minutes!! We literally walked onto Buzz Light Year, the Mad Hatters Tea Cups, Mickey’s Speedway and Matt and Ken rode Space Mountain! (Matthew loved it!!) Didn’t end up getting back to our cabin until close to 11 – it was a very few minutes before everyone was sound asleep!
