Turkey and Painting and Soccer

That about sums up the weekend. Ken spent most if not all of Saturday locked away upstairs getting the bathroom ready for the plumber to arrive tomorrow. It looks GREAT - the new paint is fabulous and really makes the room look bigger and so much more modern! We picked up the backerboard and tile supplies today, so hopefully the next stages (post-plumber) swing into high gear here later this week.

We also (well, me also...) discovered we have friggin MOLES in our backyard. :( I cut the grass on Saturday and was pretty sure that the septic field was failing due to the upheaval and un-eveness in the yard in certain spots. When I came in the house freaking out about having to replace yet ANOTHER major operating system in our house (hate this friggin house...) Ken quickly came outside to better understand what I was talking about. Well low and behold... it's not septic related at all. The damn moles have been digging trenches here there and everywhere in the yard and just destroying it. We've declared war - both with technological and biological devices - so we'll see what happens in the next few weeks. I am not afraid to use gasoline and fire if needed...

Matthew played an excellent soccer game on Saturday afternoon - this was the first game that was finally evenly matched and competitive. Both teams have a lot of skilled players, and great coaches. Our team was down at the half but stayed focused and on their game and in the end - turned it around into a win. So proud! It was excellent.

Yesterday was Canadian Thanksgiving, and we did a full on festivus dinner - turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, buns, stuffing, pies for dessert - de-light-ful. Ken is so excited that this is the kick off to three back to back months that involve turkey!!
