I heart camping in a travel trailer!

So we took the ole Rockwood out for her inaugural trip this past weekend.  We headed to Asheboro - not too far, just far enough - and stayed at the Zooland Family Campground - AWESOME.  We are definitely going back here - the people were so nice.  They do this big Halloween shindig too - I am hopeful we can round up a bunch of folks to go next October.  They have hayrides all through the trails, costume contests, trick or treating around the whole campground, all kinds of great stuff!

Here is my top ten list about camping in a trailer.  Yeah - I do love tent camping too - but honest to goodness - I am just getting too old for that scene and hate being cold/damp/sore from sleeping on the ground.  It SUCKS.

Top Ten Things to Love about Camping in a Travel Trailer

10.  A queen sized bed with a real mattress and 400 thread count sheets, topped with a fluffy Duvet. It's our own version of the Westin Heavenly Bed on wheels.
9.   The kids have their own bedroom with 4 bunks - that is TWO rooms away from said Queen bed in #10.
8.   Lots of hot water.
7.   26 inch HD flat screen TV.  With DVD player.  And Ipod/Satellite radio hook up.
6.  Huge dining table for games, colouring and family dining.  We love to eat outside too - but when it's cold and rainy - this is awesome.
5.   The ability to go anywhere the road takes us.  With all our 'stuff'.
4.   3 burner gas stove, good sized oven and a microwave!  Plus a fridge!
3.   Ducted heat.  And AC!
2.   Power awning, power lift jack, power slide out... lots of power.  Makes hook up and set up so much easier.

and number 1??

1.  A bathroom that ALL FIVE OF US CAN FIT IN. Props to the Dupree Family for extolling the virtues of a large bathroom - it really is worth it's weight in gold!  Our bathroom has a large shower, sink and potty - bye bye midnight potty treks outside!

We had a great time this weekend - even though it was cold, and got dark early - it was a great test run before our trip to Florida next month.  Pics soon!!
